PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
AZS Cross Checker Bricks
Description
Fused Cast AZS Checker Bricks are premium, high-efficiency thermal storage refractories specifically engineered for the regenerator chambers of modern glass melting furnaces. Operating under continuous aerodynamic stress, these bricks form the interlocking checker work structure that absorbs heat from exhaust gases and preheats incoming combustion air.
Manufactured via an advanced electric arc melting process, high-purity alumina (Al₂O₃), zircon (ZrO₂), and silica (SiO₂) are completely liquefied at temperatures exceeding 2000°C. The molten matrix is poured into specialized geometric molds, producing an ultra-dense, interlocking structure. Designed to replace traditional sintered materials in high-wear zones, our AZS checker bricks drastically extend furnace campaign life while optimizing heat recovery.
Advantages
l Exceptional Resistance to Alkali Vapor & Carry-Over Dust Corrosion
The regenerator upper checkers are constantly attacked by harsh alkali vapors and raw material carry-over dust. The dense, interlocking Baddeleyite-Corundum crystalline matrix provides unparalleled resistance to chemical erosion, blocking deep flux penetration.
l High Thermal Efficiency & Heat Storage Capacity
Featuring a massive bulk density and exceptionally low apparent porosity, these blocks display phenomenal volumetric heat capacity. They ensure rapid thermal absorption and release, driving down fuel consumption.
l Superior Anti-Clogging & Smooth Geometry
Unlike porous sintered blocks, our AZS bricks have an ultra-smooth, solid surface that prevents dust build-up and chemical sticking. This anti-clogging performance keeps the airflow channels perfectly clear, maintaining stable air pressure inside your furnace and saves you from costly cleaning and downtime.
l High-Temperature Creep Resistance
Exhibiting high mechanical strength and structural integrity under load up to 1700°C, our checker bricks resist deformation, sagging, or collapse over long-term thermal cycling.
l Anti-Spalling
Traditional refractories often suffer from structural volume expansion when attacked by batch volatiles, leading to structural deformation. Our AZS checkers remain physically stable, ensuring the checker columns stay perfectly aligned.
Applications
l Glass Furnace Regenerator Chambers: Deployed in the top and middle layers of the regenerator where temperatures are highest and alkali vapor attack is most aggressive.
l Float Glass Production Lines: Ideal for large-scale float glass furnaces requiring continuous, maximum-efficiency heat exchange.
l Container Glass & Tableware Furnaces: Applied in high-pull automated lines to maintain steady combustion air temperatures and ensure uniform melt chemistry.
Specialty Glass Melting: Highly effective in high-temperature configurations processing borosilicate or chemical glass formulations.
