   PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

FUSED CAST HIGH ZIRCONIA BLOCK

Fused cast high zirconia blocks is manufactured through a precise electric arc furnace melting and specialized casting process, forming a dense, tightly interlocked microstructure composed of about 89% zirconia crystals and 10% vitreous phase. It is engineered specifically to withstand the most aggressive chemical attacks and extreme thermal conditions in high-performance glass melting furnaces.

Advantages

Extreme Corrosion Resistance: Engineered with ultra-high purity zirconia, our blocks feature a ZrO2 content more than 88%. It is comprised of 89% baddeleyite crystals, delivering a chemical resistance against corrosive molten glass that far outperforms AZS blocks. This drastically extends the service life of critical furnace zones.

Outstanding Low-Contamination Properties: Engineered with a near-zero risk of bubbling, striae, or cord potential, this material prevents refractory shedding and impurity contamination in premium molten glass. It serves as the definitive core material for melting high-quality, specialty glass formulations.

Superior High-Temperature Performance: Select grades exhibit exceptionally high electrical resistivity at elevated temperatures. This allows them to function directly as electrode blocks in electric glass-melting furnaces, perfectly adapting to extreme conditions characterized by ultra-high temperatures and strong electric fields.

Excellent Structural Stability: Produced via precise electric arc furnace melting and fused casting, the blocks present a dense, highly homogeneous microstructure. It exhibits no structural peeling or spalling under intense thermal stress, ensuring long-term operational stability in high-wear zones such as furnace sidewalls, bottom paving, and the throat.

Applications

l  Critical Zones in Float & Specialty Glass Furnaces

Our high zirconia blocks are widely deployed in the most severely eroded, high-wear zones of float glass and specialty glass melting furnaces, including:

The Throat: Resisting continuous, high-velocity molten glass flow.

Hotspot Sidewalls: Withstanding the highest thermal and chemical stress in the furnace.

Doghouse Corners: Enduring extreme mechanical abrasion and batch material volatility.

l  Advanced Electro-Melting Applications

Specifically engineered high electrical resistivity, they are designed for direct use as electrode blocks, paving and sidewall in electric glass-melting furnaces. They deliver flawless performance under extreme conditions characterized by ultra-high temperatures and powerful electric fields.

l  High-Temperature Metallurgical & Chemical Kilns

Beyond glass manufacturing, this premium refractory extends to high-temperature linings in the metallurgical and chemical industries. It provides an impenetrable defense against aggressive chemical attack, severe slag corrosion, and intense physical impact in extreme thermal environments.
