Fused Cast Alpha-Beta Alumina Block SR-M

Description

Fused cast Alpha-Beta alumina blocks are premium, high-purity crystalline refractories engineered specifically for the working end, feeder channels, and superstructures of glass melting furnaces. Manufactured through precise electric arc melting at temperatures exceeding 2000°C, this material features an optimized mineral composition composed of about 45% Alpha-Alumina (α-Al2O3), 53% Beta-Alumina (β-Al2O3). The interlocking structure of these two crystalline phases forms a highly densified, wear-resistant matrix with very low vitreous phase. It is the gold standard for areas requiring absolute glass purity, offering supreme resistance to molten glass coloration and chemical attack without the risk of stone or blister defects.

Available Formats: Standard straight blocks, arch bricks, and high-precision custom-machined shapes tailored exactly to your furnace blueprints.

Advantages

l  Ultra-Pure & Contamination-Free Performance

Engineered with ultra-low impurity levels, this block guarantees zero tinting or coloration of the glass melt. It is the premier choice for high-end optical lenses, ultra-clear display panels, and premium cosmetic glass.

l  Extremely Low Glassy Phase Exudation

Unlike AZS refractories, Alpha-Beta Alumina is engineered with low glassy phase and an exceptionally low blister exudation rate. This eliminates the risk of refractory-induced defects, completely preventing stone, cord, or blister defects in critical downstream zones.

l  Outstanding Corrosion Resistance Under 1350°C
At standard conditioning and refining temperatures, the dense interlocking alumina barrier robustly counteracts the severe chemical dissolution caused by aggressive alkali vapors and fast-moving glass liquids.

l  High Structural Density & Joint Integrity
The tightly interlocking alpha and beta crystal matrices deliver exceptional mechanical rigidity and low apparent porosity, effectively blocking internal glass infiltration and mitigating joint erosion.

l  Superior Thermal Shock & Mechanical Spalling Resistance
The balanced combination of dense alpha-crystals and larger beta-crystals provides excellent resistance to thermal shock and structural spalling during cyclical furnace temperature adjustments.

Applications

l  Working End & Refining Zone Sidewalls
Strategically installed in the thermal homogenization and conditioning sections. It ensures the glass melt is chemically stabilized and perfectly tempered before entering the forming stage, completely eliminating the risk of coloration or refractory-induced defects.

l  Forehearth Channels & Distributors

The definitive standard lining material for forehearth channels, expendable channel blocks, and flow distributors. Its advanced crystal structure ensures zero refractory spalling, safeguarding the absolute optical purity and homogeny of the glass stream before forming.

l  Working End Superstructures & Crown

Applied in the breast walls, tuckstones, and crown arches of the working end to resist the high-temperature volatilization and attack of alkali vapors.

l  Float Glass Canal Blocks & Lip Blocks
Used in the critical delivery canals and lip assemblies where molten glass transitions to the tin bath, requiring ultra-smooth contact surfaces and perfect dimension stability to ensure uniform glass thickness.

l  Pharmaceutical Packaging Glass Furnaces & Borosilicate Glass Furnaces
Deployed extensively in melting zones for Type I borosilicate pharmaceutical glass to meet strict medical-grade chemical compliance.
