PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Fused Silica Brick
Description
Fused silica bricks are premium-grade acid refractory materials manufactured from high-purity fused silica (SiO₂ > 98.5%) as the primary raw material. Through advanced crushing, shaping, and precise high-temperature firing processes, these bricks exhibit exceptional thermal shock resistance, minimal thermal expansion, and excellent chemical stability. They are widely utilized in glass melting furnaces, coke ovens, and other high-temperature, corrosive industrial environments.
Advantages
l Superior Thermal Shock Resistance: Can withstand drastic temperature fluctuations without cracking or spalling. Ideal for hot-repair operations where materials are inserted directly into running furnaces.
l Extremely Low Thermal Expansion: Maintains excellent dimensional stability at high temperatures. Minimizes structural stress and movement within the furnace lining.
l High Chemical Purity & Corrosion Resistance: Low iron and alkali content prevent contamination of the molten glass batch. Highly resistant to acidic slags and corrosive gases.
l Low Thermal Conductivity: Provides excellent thermal insulation compared to standard silica bricks. Reduces heat loss and improves furnace efficiency.
Applications
1. Glass Industry
Hot Repair Materials: Used for hot-repairing of melting crown and arches, tuckstones, and burner blocks without shutting down the furnace.
Feeder Expendables: Used as parts directly contacting molten glass, such as stirrers, orifice ring, plungers, and spout.
2. Metallurgical Industry
Coke Oven Repairs: Used for the rapid hot repair of coke oven walls and doors.
Foundry and Casting: Used as lining materials for high-purity induction furnaces and launders.
3. Other Industries
Chemical & Ceramic: Used as kiln furniture and saggers for firing high-purity electronic ceramics.
Aerospace: Used in high-temperature testing equipment and thermal protection structures.
