PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Zero Expansion Silica Brick
Description
Zero expansion silica bricks
are high-performance refractories engineered from premium high-purity fused
silica. By locking in a predominantly amorphous, non-crystalline quartz matrix
during a specialized manufacturing process, these bricks exhibit a linear
thermal expansion coefficient close to zero between room temperature and
1200°C. They are designed to solve the heavy industrial pain point of furnace
thermal cracking, serving as the definitive global standard for emergency hot
repairs without stopping operations or requiring preheating.
Advantages
l Near-Zero Thermal Expansion: Displays virtually zero
dimensional change during rapid heat-up. This eliminates unpredictable
micro-cracking, joint opening, or lining stress distortions under sudden
temperature surges.
l Extreme Thermal Shock
Resistance: Can be directly inserted into an operating furnace at 1000°C to 1300°C
from room temperature with zero cracking, zero spalling, and zero structural
explosion.
l No Preheating Required for Hot
Repair:
Eliminates time-consuming and energy-intensive furnace preheating protocols.
Maintenance teams can repair damaged zones on the fly, drastically reducing
furnace downtime and operational losses.
l High Chemical Purity &
Non-Contamination: Boasts a high SiO₂ content with ultra-low iron and alumina impurities.
It prevents contamination or glass-melt discoloration, safeguarding end-product
quality.
l Excellent High-Temperature
Creep Resistance: Maintains supreme structural load-bearing capacity and rigidity under
continuous high-temperature environments, preventing sag or structural shifting
over extended service campaigns.
Applications
Our Zero-Expansion Silica Bricks are universally deployed as the primary
material for emergency maintenance, hot repair, and critical high-temperature
thermal zones:
1. Coke Oven Hot Repair
Application: Rebuilding combustion chamber walls, oven doors, carbonization chambers, and charging holes.
Value: Enables fast, hot-state structural repairs while the oven is fully operational. It seals volatile raw coal gas leaks immediately, preventing structural collapse and extending the total coke oven service life.
2. Glass Melting Furnaces
· Application: Hot-repairing of melting crowns, breast walls, port
necks, thermocouple blocks, and tuckstones.
Value: Safely patches localized brick erosion or crown scaling during active production campaigns without dropping furnace temperatures, avoiding multi-million dollar glass-draining stoppages.
3. Metallurgical &
Petrochemical Kilns
Application: Thermal shock zones in carbon baking furnaces, blast furnace hot stoves, and chemical reactors.
Value: Provides an emergency lining barrier that can withstand continuous gas erosion, heavy physical impacts, and severe temperature fluctuations
